Don't forget...

With all the hoopla surrounding the new IDW Tracy books, don't forget to check out this nice addition for behind the strip stories and remembrances by Chester Gould's daughter Jean.
Can't go wrong with this one.

Alltel Tell All...

Anyone have any other Dick Tracy Alltel items?  I have found them hard to come by for some reason.  Perhaps collectors of Tracy were not aware of it or not much was produced.
If you look closely, you can see me taking the shot.  Therefore, it is my advice to not look closely.
I found this in the window of a Alltel distributor several years ago.   I asked them to save it for me and it still has "save for Chris" or something of the like on the back.
I love the actual artwork but the "Yow!" seems to have been written by someone who didn't really have a grasp on comic strips in general and Tracy in particular.  Very generic, like what something the average joe thinks strip characters might say.
Wonder if the artist is working much now?
Love to see him do current Tracy.
Heck, I'd like to see an elephant with a paintbrush do current Tracy, for that matter.
Couldn't look much worse.

Thanks, Joe...

Joe Staton on Dick Tracy via Digital Webbing's 2008 entry to the E-man saga: "E-man, The Curse of the Idol".
If you like detectives in general, look up the character Mauser, who is a longtime ally of E-man.
Nice stuff.

Violent Panel(s) Wednesday returns...

Welcome back to Violent Panel Wednesday!
Today we get to see the end of the Brow, and what a way to go.
Impaled by the American Flag!  More eloquent, it do not get.
                                                      Take that you Nazi pig!

Scooter Tracy...

Muppet Babies.
Yes, that would be one of my bottom choices on places to find a Tracy connection too.
Yet, here it is.
For a short time while warbling a nice little ditty about "The Sunday Funnies", our hero dons the identity of Scooter Tracy.
This all takes place in the episode, "Comic Capers".
Now don't take this as an open invite to slam Muppet Babies.
I liked them too.
(but don't tell.)
